Don't be silly. There are next to no PUG ERs. Even if you find one, they're not often very good. I pug ALOT, and the meta appears to still be tanks and ele nukers. It's stupid.

More than once someone in a party said:
"wtf, what do we want with two warriors?!? only need one tank dood!"
^It's incredibly frustrating, but yes. PUG "Meta" is still warrior tanks, ele nukers, and 2x Mo/ healers. SoS spammers are common now also, but not much else.

THOSE PUG teams suck. Mine however, don't.

I must admit, this is all too true, ive yet to see an ER infuser that knows its job, though you do find a few that claim to know the role its increasingly frustrating.

Bad SoS and Imbagon builds i find particularly offensive, but i think thats mainly due to my main being a para and the fact that SoS can be run on a blind dead mongoose.

Bollocks. I'd like to meet these ERs. I've only seen two pugs recently, not what I'd call a "fair amount" or a "few". Tell me, what district are they hiding in?

This. PUG mentality appears to be that all rits are SoS spammers, all eles are nukers, all necros are either SS or MM, and that the warrior tanks. (My rit has been kicked before I even got a chance to ping bar because they already had an SoS rit.)

There is a happy medium for both. A bar completely filled with either seems a bit ill-prepared for PvE, since the enemy AI obviously allows for both. A necro who practices casting SS on an enemy in a mob rather than the one off to the side is still getting more experience at becoming a better player. It's about how you use it, and not necessarily what you have. This whole thing seems long-winded. :/

When it's all said, there aren't that many proactive hexes.
Barbs,
Mark Of Pain
Rigor Mortis
Faintheartedness and other degen skills.

Off the top of my head, I cannot think of anymore proactive hexes.
So in effect we're saying being able to spam barbs and mark of pain is better than using ANY other reactive hexes?

I may have confused myself there... But, even though that's cleared up, and if we're still saying that a necro who likes Mark Of Pain to activate lots will be running the generic Mark of Pain Nuker with AP... Which will outdamage any mesmer/necro reactive hexes.

However for defense, that's where you use the reactive stuffs. And it all works better when it's being instantly recharged, of course.

So if you have enough damage already, why gimp your build with Spiteful Spirit or, I don't know... Icy Veins, when you can be instantly recharging your defensive and offensive hexes and spam them as much as possible to negate as much stress from your team as possible?

Well, that's more defending the use of AP-MoP than reactive VS Proactive, but I can't be bothered changing anything.
